Dr. Platon Baltas holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Athens (1979) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University (1987).

From 1988 to 1998 he worked at the Center for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES) as head of the newly established Photovoltaic Sector, where he contributed significantly to the development of its human resources and infrastructure.  He was also the leader for many research, demonstration and technology dissemination projects on renewable energies, electricity storage and hybrid systems.

From 1998 to 2000 he worked as an independent consultant on photovoltaic systems, renewable energy sources and desalination using RES.

From 2000 to 2007 he worked at Germanos - Systems Sunlight S.A., initially developing and then directing all activities related to photovoltaic systems.  He also developed new products of autonomous photovoltaic hybrid systems for telecommunications and contributed significantly to the promotion of these products in the Greek, African and Middle Eastern markets.

From 2007 to 2019 he was the CEO of Enfinity Hellas, developing photovoltaic power plants, energy storage systems for utility applications as well as for the electrification of islands in developing countries.  In 2016, he took over the management of the company's activities in the field of energy storage.

Since 2007 he has been a partner in EYDITI LTD. where he is currently managing projects in: energy savings, project financing, development of RES power plants, energy storage and hybrid systems.

Dr. Lucas Barbaris is the Project development manager of the Alasia Development S.A., responsible for renewable energy projects. Also, Dr. Barbaris is President and Secretary and has been a member of Safebulkers Inc. board of directors since 2008. Prior to joining Alasia Development S.A., from 1999 to 2005 and from 1993 to 1995, Dr. Barmparis was employed at N. Daskalantonakis Group, Grecotel, one of the largest hotel chains in Greece, as technical manager and project development general manager. During the interim period between 1995 and 1999, Dr. Barmparis was employed at Exergia S.A. as an energy consultant. Dr. Barmparis holds a Master of Business Administration (“MBA”) from the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration, a doctorate from the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, a Master of Applied Science from the University of Toronto and a diploma in mechanical engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Mrs. Anna Fragkouli acts as Alasia's Development administrative coordinator.  Mrs. Anna Fragkouli is the Vice-President of the board of directors of Safe Bulkers Participations Plc and has been a member of the board of directors since 2022.  Mrs. Anna Fragouli is a distinguished lawyer and has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2018. In 2019, she embarked on her role as a Commercial Manager of dry cargo ships at Safe Bulkers Management LTD, a subsidiary of Safe Bulkers Inc., based in Cyprus.  She holds a law degree from the Law School of the National and  Kapodistrian University of Athens, and an LLM in Maritime Law from the City University of London, with her focus on marine insurance, sea transport of goods, maritime law, international commercial arbitration, and international commercial law.
